About Emails
E-marketing is a quick and low cost route to market. It is extremely popular amongst all of our customers and at least 80% of all of new enquiries we receive request e-mail addresses with their list. Unfortunately genuine e-mail marketing has been tarred with the brush of the Viagra Merchants. If business people are not interested in your offer or don’t have time to consider it they will simply ignore the email or ask to be removed from the list, however some people take offence to getting unsolicited emails and they may well respond to you with an abrupt or even rude reply, you may get the odd person that wants to know how, why and when you obtained their details.
If a data subject requests to be removed from your email list, you must remove them and you must not send those emails again. This is a central part of the Electronic Communications Act.
Compliance with the Electronic Communications Act
Data HQ email addresses are personalised and are only at their work address, we do not supply generic emails i.e. info@ or sales@. The Electronic Communications Act does not allow the sending of emails offering consumer services to people who have not opted in to receive emails from you. For example you are not allowed to make offers for personal loans, holidays, gambling, and health products etc.
You are allowed to send emails offering business services to business people at their business email addresses, without them opting in to receive these communications, (apart from sole traders). To comply with the Electronic Communications Act you must include within your e-mail a clear and simple way of opting out of receiving further e-mail from you, it is very clear that if they ask you to stop emailing them, then you must remove them from your list and must not email them again.
The law permits you to send unsolicited emails to business email addresses on business matters only. Data HQ email lists have been compiled by calling the company and requesting the email address of the data subject or somebody associated to the data subject. Our method of collecting e-mail addresses is compliant with the Data Protection Act for business emails. By using these email addresses you are not in breach of the law within the UK.
Data HQ are registered under the Data Protection Act registration number Z5561873
